We have stayed at nearly 20 different hotels over the last few years of travelling to Japan, but this has been the best one yet! - Location is perfect, as it is situated on a quiet street so we always felt well rested, but only a 5 minute walk to Nishiki Market, Life supermarket, and plenty of shopping, department stores, and restaurants within walking distance. We barely needed to take public transit - Very clean and calming atmosphere, right from the moment you step in. Everything is thoughtfully and tastefully decorated and designed with comfort, quality, and elegance in mind. Even the hotel bathrooms were stunning and spotless! - Hotel amenities were excellent! Elevators were nearly instant as there are fewer guests in a boutique hotel. The lounge was the best we’ve ever experienced, with a generous selection of snacks and drinks in a quiet and relaxing environment - Rooms are very spacious and had plenty of space for luggage. Bathrooms are beautifully appointed and feel like a spa - ample counter space, split bathroom design, and relaxing rain shower - Small thoughtful details show a commitment to quality, such as plush slippers, high quality teas from our favourite Ippodo Tea in the room - Staff was so wonderful and treated us with so much warmth and consideration! They moved our luggage to our rooms for us prior to us checking in, and even helped my mother in law prepare fruit for us! We have never experienced service that went above and beyond like this - thank you very much for making our trip so wonderful and memorable, our whole family is grateful! We hope to stay here again soon!

We absolutely loved the hotel & our room - someone done a great job thinking about every single detail. The stay was comfortable and enjoyable, starting from the moment we walked in the lobby on arrival. The hotel has a great location, we didn't need to use public transport, but rather walked around. There are several restaurants & bars right next to the hotel, that we enjoyed. The reception team was always welcoming and super helpful - we had a couple of requests and everything was sorted in a nice and timely manner. The guest lounge is a nice addition - we used it a few times, snacks are great and drinks are available! Would love to come back to Kyoto and stay again!

This was the best place we stayed in over our 3 week trip to Japan, excluding doing a Walk Japan trip which was up North and stunning. Our room was extremely spacious, great toiletries. Loved having the Japanese tea and coffee in room. Another wonderful feature was the guest area on the 2nd floor where breakfast was served. We would go in every afternoon after we had returned from our sight seeing adventures and have a complementary drink and nibbles. Amazing little extra. Front of house staff were gorgeous, one of the best meals we had in Kyoto was a recommendation from a lovely young guy at the front desk, he even rang to sort an English menu for us, just so sweet.

Wonderful boutique hotel in a great location, central but off the main tourist craziness. Very large room and great large bathroom for Japanese standards. Sink was within the bathroom but still separate from shower and toilet, we appreciated this. There was also a large open wardrobe. Staff is usually friendly in Japan, but the General Kyoto people were particularly endearing and spoke exzellent English. We didn't mind the non-transparent windows, the room was still very bright. The breakfast is absolutely fine, we got it on the first morning and went out on the second day. There are also a lot of nice restaurants and cafes in the area.

The staffs were very friendly and helpful during our stay. It's was very helpful that we can leaves our luggage at the hotel before checkin and briefly after check out. Also, We had people with special dietary needs and I was unable to request it in advance (for some reasons the message wasn't delivered), but the staffs did their best to accommodate despites not receiving early noticed. The staffs were helpful and patient, and they also have staffs that speak English and Mandarin. The hotel is new and clean, close to the train station. Overall a very pleasant stay and would stay there again if I ever had another vacation at Kyoto.
